Monday 29 July | Day at Sea

Norway’s fjords are remarkably stunning, such that several have been inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list for their ‘outstanding universal value’. With their shores covered by dense forests and marked by waterfalls plunging into the sea, these famous sites are truly breathtaking. On a day like this you will be able to enjoy these treasures.

Tuesday 30 July | Oslo, Norway

(08:00 am till 5:00 pm)
Norway’s charming capital city, is a vibrant mix of modern architecture and world-class museums alongside 10th century Viking history. The city is framed by the 100-kilometer long Oslo fjord and surrounded by rolling hills, vast parks and lush forests, which means that the pure pleasures of nature are easily accessible. We invite you to join our organised half day optional excursion around this city during which we will see memorable highlights (from the outside) such as the Royal Palace, Town Hall, the National Theatre and the city’s modern centre of shops and office blocks. We will visit Vigeland Park for the world’s largest collection of sculptures executed by Gustav Vigeland. We will also make a stop at the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included), whose spectacular exhibits will draw us back to a glorious chapter in Norwegian Maritime history!

Wednesday 31 July | Kristiansand, Norway

(08:00 am till 5:00 pm)
Known as the Norwegian Riviera with the nickname ‘Summer City’, this charming city is the fifth-largest city in Norway but is small enough to be enjoyed on a leisurely walk. The history of Kristiansand spans more than 370 years with many areas embodying this long history, from the stunning Kilden Performing Arts Centre, which opened in 2012, to the Old Town’s timber buildings and houses dating back to the 1700s. A great way to see Kristiansand is on foot and the main dock is 300 metres walking distance of town. Alternatively, you can also book one of the shore excursions offered by the ship.

Thursday 1 August | Stavanger, Norway

(07:00 am till 4:00 pm)
Before this port city earned its status as the epicenter of ‘black gold’, it was a shipbuilding and a fish-canning town. It’s now home to top-notch fusion restaurants and a bustling nightlife. During our organised optional fjord cruise feast your eyes on majestic Pulpit Rock seeming to reach into the sky above incredible Lysefjord. This fjord cruise creates memories for life. We will also discover the mysterious Vagabond’s Cave and get a taste of the fresh mountain water from the Hengjane waterfall.

Friday 2 August | Flam, Norway

(07:00 am till 5:00 pm)
Flam and its surrounding area are places to stop, gaze and linger. The village has an easy pastoral rhythm with no traffic lights. There are many ways to take in the majestically beautiful landscapes. The Flam Railway is a must here. Described by many as the world’s most beautiful train journey, the train runs from the end of Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the Sognefjord, up to the high mountains at Myrdal Station. This journey displays the very best aspects of Western Norway’s stunning scenery. This excursion has to be pre-booked through the Holland America website as early as possible in order to avoid any disappointments.
