Smooching as the sun sets into the ocean? Feasting on freshly caught crab? Cambodia’s islands make under-populated beaches accessible to the budget-conscious.

Day 1 | HANOI ARRIVAL

Welcome to Hanoi, our guide will pick you up at Hanoi Airport and take you to hotel for check in. The room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards. Balance the day as your leisure. Meals on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 | HANOI CITY TOUR

8.30AM: In the morning, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday and Friday, outside visiting) where the great President Ho Chi Minh rests in peace. We will visit he traditional stilt house and the respected One-Pillar Pagoda, the special pagoda with particular structure. Leaving here, we will transfer to thousand-year-old Temple of Literature, the famous first university in Vietnam. You will recognize that this is a popular place for Vietnamese students to take commemorative photographs when graduating.

After short rest, we start visiting the Ethnology Museum (closed on Monday). Here, you can deeply explore the diversity of Vietnam’s ethnic groups before enjoying a traditional Water Puppet Show performed after the sunset.

5.30PM: Transfer back to hotel. Meals on your own and overnight at the hotel.

(Remark: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum closes from September to November for annual maintenance. Outside visiting will be arranged).

Day 3 | HANOI – HALONG BAY

08h00 – Pick-up at hotel and start the scenic, 3.5 hour drive to Halong Bay. Enjoy the landscape of the Red River Delta country side and have a short break on the way.

12h30 – 13h00: Embark on V’Spirit Classic Cruise followed by a short cruise briefing.

13h30 – 15h30: Savor a delectable lunch as V’Spirit Classic cruises among the limestone islands.

15h30 – 16h30: Explore the amazing Sung Sot Cave – the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay.

16h30 Back to the V’Spirit Classic Cruise

16h30 – 17h30: Continue cruising to the quiet area while enjoy beautiful seascape on the way.

17h30 – 19h00: Cooking class and sunset party on sundeck

19h00: Dinner is served. Socialize with other guests, take part in board games, fish for squid, or just laze around. Overnight on board.

Day 4 | HALONG BAY – HANOI – DANANG – HOIAN

06h30 – 07h00: Start your day with Tai Chi exercises or a photo hunt.

07h30 – 08h30: Have breakfast on board while the boat starts cruising to the Natural Preservation Zone.

08h30 – 09h30: Kayaking to explore around the area or visit a floating house and learn about the daily life of the local fishermen who live there.

09h30: Return to the boat. Freshen up and check out of your cabin.

09h30 – 10h30: Continue your cruise exploring the Bay, passing Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, and more.

10h30 – 11h30: While heading back to the harbor, watch the fruit carving demonstration before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese lunch.

12h00: Disembark V’Spirit Classic Cruises.

Transfer to Hanoi Airport where you will take a short flight to Danang. Welcome by local guide on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Hoian for check in. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 | HOIAN

8.30AM: We will start a walking tour with our tour-guide around the attractive Hoian port town. In 16th century, Hoian used to be the national trading center for East-West commercial itinerary. It seems to be the assembly point for diversity of ancient streets and homes. Particularly, the quaint cobblestone streets with more than two-century-old Chinese houses are indispensable subjects to visit and explore. You will see the ancient houses built following the Chinese, Japanese, French and European architectures along the narrow lanes. The 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge built by Japanese merchants in 16th century, the PhucKien Assembly Halls, and the local fish market are some indispensable places that you should visit in Hoian. Let’s stop off at a tailor-made shop to get yourself favorite clothes/suits/dresses if you are interested.

5.00PM: Walk back to your hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 | HOIAN – DANANG – SIEM REAP

Free at your leisure until be transferred to Danang Airport for your flight to Siem Reap in the late afternoon. Room in Hoian is at your disposal until noon time.

On arrival Siem Reap, meet your local guide and drive to your hotel for check in. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 | SIEM REAP – ANGKOR SIGHTSEEING

8.30AM: Your day starts with a visit to Angkor Wat, a world heritage site with soaring towers and extraordinary bas reliefs. It is one of the most amazing man-made monuments in the world, erected in the 12th century in honour of Vishnu. In the afternoon, leave for BanteaySrei where a most impressive jewel of Khmer art exists. Erected in the 10th century, this small pink sandstone temple is known as the Citadel of Women. On the way back, visit the ancient Ta Prohm Monastery where immense branches have taken root in the stones – hence the nickname of the Jungle Temple. You will find some splendid sculptured Devatas and an atmosphere that is unique.

5.00AM: Transfer back to your hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Note: Lunch is not included but our guide will be happy to take you back to your hotel or to Bar Street in Siem Reap so you can purchase lunch and take a short break from the tour.

Day 8 | SIEM REAP EXPLORING BY TUK TUK

8.30AM: In the morning leave by tuk-tuk for the northern end of Angkor, beginning the day with Preah Khan Temple, built by Jayavarman VII in 1191 in honour of his father. This monument was both a city and a place for Buddhism studies. Of the same era is NeakPean, the only island temple of Angkor, and also known as Entwined Nagas. The large central basin is linked with four smaller basins which represent the four great rivers flowing from the earth’s four cardinal points. One of the most interesting features of this site is the superb statute of Balaha, representing the legendary saviour of shipwrecked boats. Continue your exploration of Angkor by heading further south to visit the two very beautiful temples – Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda – dating from the 12th century and built during the reign of Suryavarman II. They stand out because of their very beautiful sculptured images honouring Shiva and Vishnu. In the afternoon, visit Angkor Thom (the Great City) beginning by the south gate and the famous Bayon of the 12th and 13th centuries, dedicated to Buddhism and composed of 54 gigantic towers featuring 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Then, visit the Elephant Terrace, which was used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king’s grand audience hall; and the raised Leper King Terrace, built in the 12th century and which features many beautifully sculptured Apsaras. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 | SIEM REAP – HO CHI MINH

At good time, leave your hotel in Siem Reap for a flight to Ho Chi Minh. On arrival, meet your local guide and drive to your hotel in city center for check in. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 | HO CHI MINH – CU CHI TUNNELS – CITY TOUR

8.00AM: In the morning, we will visit Cu Chi Tunnel, the historic shelter of Vietnamese soldiers during the war. We will pay a visit to the traps, the mysterious way-in, the network of bunkers and the underground hermitage. Furthermore, there gives you a unique and wonderful chance to use real guns and bullets at rifle range as well as even creep into the Cu Chi Tunnels to understand the historic harsh life of Vietcong guerrillas. Covering almost 250km, the tunnels system helped over 16.000 communist guerillas alive during the war.

Relaxing with green tea and tapioca as Vietcong in wartime, you will understand more about their former life.

In the afternoon, we will transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city to visit this dynamic metropolis. Let’s visit some historic sites of the city such as the Old Post Office of Saigon, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Dong Khoi street and the Chinese District of Cho Lon as well as astonishing BinhTay Market. ThienHau pagoda is also an interesting destination for peaceful feeling that you should not miss.

5.30PM: Transfer back to hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 | HO CHI MINH – MEKONG DELTA – CAN THO

8.00AM: Today we depart from Ho Chi Minh City to explore Ben Tre in Mekong delta. Upon arrival at Ben Tre town, take a motor boat trip around Ben Tre river with several stops to visit a nice brick kiln where you could see how a brick be made, coconut fruits processing and some families in Cai Son and Thanh Nhon channel who make sleeping mats. Enjoy fresh fruit and green tea while relaxing at a local house. Keep continue the trip by bicycle or by taking a motor cart pass by rice fields and vegetable plains. Lunch at a local house.

In the afternoon, take a rowing-boat along small channels to a rice making workshop then visit an ancient house.

3.00PM: Back to the main road for a transfer to your hotel in Can Tho. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 | CAN THO – HO CHI MINH DEPARTURE

6.30AM: You are recommended to get up early in the morning and transfer to NinhKieu Quay, get on a local boat to visit vivid floating markets in Cai Rang early in the morning.

We will run adrift along the river on boat, witness many other floating boats selling from well-known fruits such as mangos, bananas to the most exotic ones like mangos teens, star apples, or the sweetened longans and the very odorous durians. You will be satisfied with their flavours before entering the gaze of the channels and streams around Can Tho. Sitting on boat and have a look at locals’ activities, you will partly understand more about their daily life.

Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your departure flight. Meals on your own. End of the tour!
